  • Today on the blog, #linkinbio, meet Zorya @5_lakess and Ricky! Ricky is Punjabi (Sikh) Indian, and his wife Zorya is Ukrainian, Russian, French, and British. They were both born and raised in Ontario, Canada. However, Ricky spent two years as an infant living in India.

Zorya and Ricky first met online about 1.5 years before they met in person. Though they chatted here and there, neither anticipated a relationship developing because they lived in different cities. Yet, they eventually moved to the same town. They started to run into one another all of the time because Ricky was attending a post-secondary institution where Zorya worked part-time. Eventually, Ricky asked Zorya on a coffee date, and...
Find out how they told their parents about each other and what their parents thought about their relationship. How they deal with the challenges they have faced (i.e., what Zorya realized after an older woman asked her, "why she chose that one because there are so many white, blonde boys around"?), and so much more!

  • Today meet Snehal and Kevin @gujugirl411! Snehal is Indian and her husband is Kevin is Black. They met through mutual friends and fell in love shortly thereafter. Snehal remembers vividly, telling Kevin that they would never be able to marry because her parents would not understand. As a result, Kevin insisted for them to continue dating and was ok risking everything for their love and so was she.
After 2 years of dating in secret, Snehal decided enough was enough and she went home and told her parents about Kevin. The first words out of her dad’s mouth after she told him she was dating and in love with a Black man were, “Cool, bring him over for a beer.” Snehal was stunned. 😲
Her parents and extended family welcomed Kevin with open arms and it has been a dream ever since. This year they will be celebrating their 15th year of marriage. 🎉Together Kevin and Snehal have 3 beautiful boys and are a proud #Blindian family.
Their advice for other couples is to:
❣️Be honest with yourself.
❣️Marry someone who builds you up, who enhances who you are. They will be your partner, your best friend, and your co-parent should you have kids.
❣️Marriage is not always easy. It is tough sometimes, challenging, and exhausting.

Snehal and Kevin's favorite quote that they live by is “Marriage is about falling in love over and over again, always with the same person.”
🙌🏾 💯my husband and I couldn’t agree more Snehal and Kevin about this quote. What do you think?
If only all multicultural love stories were so delightful, right?! Thank you both for writing and sharing. Swipe to see another picture of their handsome sons!😍😍😍
